JAIME P., Alberto  e  RUEDAS-MEDINA, R.. Eficiencia de grupos de pilotes sometidos a carga lateral. Ing. invest. y tecnol. [online]. 2007, vol.8, n.2, pp.85-98. ISSN 2594-0732.

This paper includes a bibliographical review of theoretical and experimental behavior studies of piles subjected to static lateral load. The experimental behavior was obtained from full scale load test and it provides a solid basis for comparison with numerical methods of analysis, mainly beam on elastic foundation, p-y curves method, and finite elements with linear modeling of soil. The computer results were compared with the experimental measurements. The p-y curves method provides the best results, modeling appropriately the distribution of lateral loads and bending moments of piles in a group. The linear finite element method models partially the interaction soil-pile group and gives a reasonable answer of the group efficiency. The beam on elastic foundation method gives results similar to those using the finite element method and it improves when non linear behavior of soil is considered.

Palavras-chave : Pile groups; lateral load; efficiency; p-y curves.
