In 1999, an industry dedicated to the food elaboration, and the Faculty of Chemistry of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMex) signed an agreement to carry out works in the wastewater tratment plant (WWTP) of this company. Thanks to this agreement, personnel of the company and students, initially of the Faculty of Chemistry and later of the Instituto Tecnológico de Toluca (ITT) y de la Universidad Tecnológica del Valle de Toluca (UTVT) specifically in the fields of Chemical, Chemical Engineering and Technician in Environmental Engineering, advised by university professors of the UAEMex, managed to improve the conditions of control and operation of the WWTP; besides to establish focused experimental designs to research in field, and to increase the learning of students and professors. This work in equipment has promoted the incensement in the relationship of professors of these educational centers and the industry in the human resources formation in the environmental area.
