MENDOZA-DOMINGUEZ, A. y GRANIEL-PERALTA, M.. Estimación de emisiones a la atmósfera provenientes de quemadores elevados de instalaciones petroleras en la Sonda de Campeche. Ing. invest. y tecnol. [online]. 2006, vol.7, n.3, pp.165-173. ISSN 2594-0732.
PEMEX Exploration and Production (PEP) performs venting of associated gas through high torch-type burners in its production facilities in the southernmost part of the Gulf of Mexico (Sonda de Campeche), allowing control of operation pressures of separators and pipelines in such facilities. This study focuses in estimating the amount of atmospheric emissions originated from burners in PEP's North east Marine Region. Thus, an emission inventory for six different study episodes between November 2000 and November 2001 was elaborated, with the objective of diagnosing the emissions' behaviors through out different meteorological conditions. The inventory was generated for CO, CO2, SO2, nitrogen oxides, total suspended particles and unburned hydrocarbons. The inventory was assembled using emission factors that account forthe oretical combustion inefficiencies due to meteorological conditions. The results show considerable amounts of H2S and unburned organic compounds due to combustion in efficiencies that ranged between 22% and 44%.
