ZAPATA-GARIBAY, Rogelio; GONZALEZ-FAGOAGA, Jesús Eduardo y RANGEL-GOMEZ, María Gudelia. HIV/AIDS Mortality in the northern Mexican border: levels and trends. Pap. poblac [online]. 2014, vol.20, n.79, pp.39-71. ISSN 2448-7147.
In Mexico, HIV/AIDS has become one of the leading causes of death in certain population groups and regions of the country, particularly the northern border. The aim of this paper is to review levels and trends of HIV/AIDS mortality at border states of northern Mexico. To measure mortality were used death records from Mexico in 2000-2010, when northern border entities concentrate around a fifth of all deaths related to HIV/AIDS, with an upward trend with a different behavior than the rest of the country in terms of structure by age and sex, similar to the situation found in HIV infections.
