Abstract

BOUTILLER, Sophie  and  CASTILLA-RAMOS, Beatriz. Pauperization of labor market: an analysis from Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean. Pap. poblac [online]. 2012, vol.18, n.71, pp.239-270. ISSN 2448-7147.

We analyze the large international tendencies of employment evolution in the 2000-2010 period based on the information supplied by la ILO, ECLAC and IMF. The universe under study is focused on the regions of the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, with special attention to Mexico and France. The proposed hypothesis is that in spite of the differences there are in the levels of development of said regions, the modalities of employment detected in them, come closer, being oriented to the pauperization of labor in several dimensions; the fall of employment, low wages, changes in collective contracts and other. Hence, the border of employment which previously divided them blurs.

Keywords : European Union; Latin America and the Caribbean; France; Mexico; development levels; labor pauperization.
