In this article we analyze from a gender perspective the experience of some single fathers living in the Metropolitan Zone of México City. We use a qualitative approach to study in depth the way in which these fathers organize their working and family life once they are in charge of their children in absence of the mother. The aim of our study is to discover any changes in father's role related not only with breadwinning but also with domestic labor as well as children upbringing.
