This article has as a purpose to present the results of the situation wherein the elderly from the State of México live, using the database from the Survey on Demographic Aging in the State of Mexico (Encuesta Sobre Envejecimiento Demografico en el Estado de México, ESEDEM 2008) performed by the Center of Research and Advanced Studies on the Population of the Autonomous University of the state of Mexico, which provides substantive elements to have a socio-demographic diagnosis on the elderly in the state of México. This article does not attempt to approach all the variables of the survey, it only focuses on the ones we consider the most determining of the socio-demographic situation of the age groups over seventy years of age.
