As from the 1980's decade, Tierra del Fuego, the southernmost province of Argentina, has experienced a spectacular demographic unfolding; its analysis is inseparable from the policies of industrial promotion implemented in the region, which have decisively influenced its economic and social evolution. With data from the 1990's decade, we will describe the composition of the population of the province, with special attention to the migratory component and taking into account the occupational insertion and the time of migration. The design of the present study is supported upon a descriptive and quantitative approach, using a database the original bases of the Permanent Survey on Households from different times between 1993 and 2001.
