In this article a characterization of the south-north flow of women who transit through the North border is presented from data of the Survey on Migration in the Northern Border of Mexico in the phases 1993-1994, 1999-2000 and 2005-2006. We analyze the changes in the socio-demographic profile of the women who crossed the border into the United States of America in this period of more than ten years, considering variables such as age, marital status, familial structure, household size and schooling. Also, we analyze the changes in the place of origin and the reasons to undertake said journey.
