MONTOYA GOMEZ, Guillermo et al. Community organization for the forest conservation: case study in the Lacandona jungle of Chiapas, Mexico. Pap. poblac [online]. 2006, vol.12, n.49, pp.177-204. ISSN 2448-7147.

This article describes the way the family units in a ejido located in the Lacandona Jungle, in Chiapas, are organized, take decisions and control their natural resources, where one of the central actions is precisely the environmental conservation through self-control processes, of local governing. However, the latter would have not been possible without the change of social structures, which have become in potentialities. All of that has been constructed in the heat of relevant events as a more international interest for the conservation of the resources, and the sale of the environmental services, that the local communities sell to the world population. The study shows our need of building local implementation scales in a context that overcomes the sustainable development theory.
