Abstract

Cuba is a developing country that has advanced significantly in its demographic transition and that simultaneously counts with reliable registers on different events related to adolescent pregnancy, which has offered the possibility of gathering and presenting reliable elements on sociodemographic aspects of early gestation, to which has been corroborated, or put in doubt in other cases, existing paradigms around this important topic. The work shows the problem of the adolescent pregnancy in sociodemographic terms, related to its different degree of manifestation, conditioners and social implications, on Cuban context.
