Resumen

ZEITLIN, María Agustina. Employment Trajectories of Holders of Doctoral Degrees in the Social Sciences in Argentina. RMIE [online]. 2021, vol.26, n.91, pp.1167-1191.  Epub 13-Dic-2021. ISSN 1405-6666.

The economic adjustments made in the scientific and technological setting since 2015 in Argentina have meant that the holders of doctoral degrees, earned thanks to increased numbers of scholarships and the reopening of the Scientific Researcher program, are unemployed and have started to implement strategies to generate income. The current article presents some of the results of ongoing research on the educational and work trajectories of individuals holding doctoral degrees in the social sciences in Argentina. A study of three cases attempts to comprehend, based on personal narrative, the way that individuals develop strategies for obtaining employment, concretely in the academic and/or scientific setting, along with the meanings they attach to their activity and their employment options.

Palabras llave : social sciences; doctoral degrees; employment; researchers.
