CUBILLOS VEGA, Carla; FERRAN ARANAZ, Magdalena; MERCADO GARCIA, Esther  y  PASTOR SELLER, Enrique. Notions and Commitment to Human Rights among Students of Social Work in Spain. RMIE [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.75, pp.1047-1075. ISSN 1405-6666.

This article describes the results of research aimed at identifying the level of knowledge and commitment to human rights among first-semester students of social work in three regions of Spain (Madrid, Castile/La Mancha, and Murcia). The study was of an exploratory and descriptive nature, using a questionnaire based on previously validated scales of Notions of Human Rights in Social Work, and Commitment to Human Rights in Social Work. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used for analysis. In spite of the differences in student profiles in the three universities, all groups coincide in having few notions of human rights, in their elevated expectations regarding learning, and in their degree of commitment to learning. The implications of these results are discussed in terms of educational research on human rights in social work, in order to optimize educational programs in the area.
