ROJAS VILLAMIL, Javier Alejandro. Construction of Critical Meanings in the University Context: A Case Study at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. RMIE [online]. 2015, vol.20, n.66, pp.827-858. ISSN 1405-6666.
This article summarizes the main findings of research into the psychological and educational processes involved in the inter-subjective construction of critical meanings among students, strengthened by the university context. The study is based on theoretical and conceptual tenets of critical pedagogy, historical/ cultural psychology, political autonomy in the institutionalization of society, and the concept of Bildung in university education. By means of the method of life stories, the narrative of a student at Universidad Nacional de Colombia indicated that the construction of critical meanings is linked more to processes centered on agents' actions than to psychological or individual development. The reason is that such processes are guided by subjective meanings that are in a dialectic relationship with socially shared meanings, constructed through incessant transformation, discontinuously and locally with others.
