Based on the concept that learning about the media is the core of democratic education, this essay addresses, in first place, the epistemological, ethical, and political dimensions of education for democracy. In second place, it covers the problematic, complex, and uncertain aspects of thinking about the media, education about the media, and democracy. Lastly, it synthesizes a series of proposals that attempt to continue stimulating the permanent construction of a discussion that is difficult, uncertain, but necessary and impossible to postpone, and which requires making quick decisions in the ethical/ political arena.
