Resumen

JULIO, Josimeire M.  y  VAZ, Arnaldo M.. Interacciones entre masculinidades: Microanálisis de actividad de investigación escolar en física. RMIE [online]. 2009, vol.14, n.42, pp.721-745. ISSN 1405-6666.

This study analyzes the relations among different forms of masculinity by researching interactions among young people as they carry out open-ended school tasks. The methodology was of an ethnographic type: Observations were made for one year in the physics classes of a first-year group in a Brazilian secondary school. A microanalysis was made of a teaching sequence in which students are challenged to find alternatives to the hegemonic model of science and masculinity. Four classes were presented in detail, with audio and video recordings. The different profiles of masculinity interacted, creating patterns of resistance, relations of power and collaboration that directly influenced the development of the group and its individuals. There are indications that proposed activities and tasks can regulate tensions, especially when they allow individuals to experience the same opportunities for growth.

Palabras llave : masculinity; gender relations; group learning; physics teaching; school activities; Brazil.
