Abstract

GOMEZ NASHIKI, Antonio. La práctica docente y el fomento de la lectura en Colima: Estrategias y recomendaciones de los docentes de educación básica. RMIE [online]. 2008, vol.13, n.39, pp.1017-1053. ISSN 1405-6666.

This article analyzes the role of elementary school teachers as promoters of reading motivation strategies in nine public schools in the municipalities of Colima, Manzanillo and Tecomán, in the state of Colima, Mexico. By following up on teaching methods-from an ethnographic perspective-the article shows that theoretical knowledge is only part of the process of dealing with the uncertain, difficult demands of teaching work. As a result, teachers address, intuitively and creatively, solutions and proposals for problems that arise in the particular context of their teaching. Such an approach is the basis and origin of some of the strategies and recommendations presented in the article.

Keywords : reading; role of teacher; elementary education; teaching methods; Mexico.
