The purpose of this article is to analyze and reflect on university networks in the context of the society of information and knowledge. The point of reference is a conceptual debate between intellectuals and decision makers with regard to the paradigms of the new model of universities: the paradigm of information, which assumes the development and expansion of technologies of information and communication, and the paradigm of the global economy as a model of social organization for new scenarios of education, in the spatio-temporal dimension of telematic networks.
