SALVADOR CRUZ, Judith y ACLE TOMASINI, Guadalupe. Uso de estrategias de autorregulación en la comprensión de textos en niños otomíes de quinto grado. RMIE [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.26, pp.879-902. ISSN 1405-6666.
The objective of this study was to analyze the use or presence of self-regulation as Otomí children in the fifth grade carried out a reading comprehension activity. The participants were evaluated by means of a semi-structured clinical interview and a verbal protocol in a thinking-aloud mode that trained the children to verbalize their thinking before, during and after reading the text. The organization of the results was based on the categories of analysis derived from the concept of self-regulation, and on the children's reports of strategies of self-regulation used during the activity. The conclusion is that both techniques permit compiling detailed information on the way Otomí children use different processes of self-regulation in reading comprehension.
