Abstract

In this article, an empirical research is exposed about the use of the newspaper in the basic training of adult people with a theoretical foundation. This study is a part of a large, recent research, developed in the Galician Community of Spain, in the centres that focus their teaching activity in the basic degrees, equivalent to the secondary education in the general educational system (Graduado Escolar and Graduado en Educación Secundaria in Spain). This work means a significant contribution about the knowledge concerning the dynamics involved in the use of the news in the adult training and the understanding of this situation. Its main results suppose important referents to integrate the news as a didactic resource in the adult training and offer new data for a debate about its complexity and educative pertinence.
