TREJO-DIAZ, Constanza C. y TEJERO-DIEZ, J. Daniel. Vascular plants of the Las Animas montains, Chapa de Mota, State of Mexico, Mexico. Polibotánica [online]. 2017, n.43, pp.1-35. ISSN 1405-2768. https://doi.org/10.18387/polibotanica.43.1.
A floristic inventory from the sierra de Las Animas, Chapa de Mota, state of Mexico, Mexico was carried out. This region located in the center of the Mexican volcanic belt, has subhumid temperate climate and is cover mostly by oak and oak-pine forests. A total sample of 417 botanical specimens yielded 271 species, grouped in 149 genera and 75 families of which Asteraceae (57 spp.), Fabaceae (22 spp.), Pteridaceae, Fagaceae and Lamiaceae (11 spp.) are the best represented. The high floristic richness (29.82 sp / ha), the presence of 15 species included in national and international red lists for the protection, the presence of endemic species and the absence of weeds species enhances the biological significance of the study area.
