Medicinal plants in México are a therapeutic source traditional medicines important element to combine the popular knowledge with scientific in several treat diseases, these remain the mainstay of the care system. The purpose of the present study was to document the traditional medicinal knowledge of plants in Malpasito community from Huimanguillo, Tabasco, México, owing to Ecological Reserve of Agua Selva. Medicinal plants inventory include therapeutic uses, way of preparation and useful plant part. Information was obtained by conducting TRAMIL structure interviews. In the community 128 plants are used, it is distributed in 63 botanic families, dominant species are: Asteraceae (10), Leguminosae y Lamiaceae (seven), Verbeneaceae (five), Rutaceae y Solanaceae (four). 13 medicinal species registered for the treatment of different diseases with Signification Use Level at frequency 20%. Medicinal uses from species were grouped into 17 usage categories, principal diseases treated in order of priority were digestive system disorders, genitourinary system disorders y endocrine system disorders and respiratory system disorders. The results suggest the need of future studies on scientific assessment for local species used for treatment diseases.
