REYES-GARCIA, Tania et al. Woody flora of the municipality of Cocula, Guerrero, Mexico. Polibotánica [online]. 2012, n.34, pp.21-49. ISSN 1405-2768.

A woody floristic study of the Cocula municipality, in the State of Guerrero, Mexico, is presented. Botanical list of woody flora made over a period of a year. The floristic associations, the searching into the list of species at risk of the NOM-059-ECOL-2010 and analysis floristic similarity were done. The list includes 51 families, 121 genera and 183 species in three different vegetation types: tropical deciduous forest, thorn forest and gallery forest. The major families considering the number of species were Mimosaceae, Fabaceae, Burseraceae, Caesalpinaceae, Apocynaceae, Malpighiaceae and Rubiaceae. The species number was largest in Bursera genus. The study denotes the presence of four species at risk in Cocula according to the NOM. Two are threatened and two endangered. Results suggest biological heterogeneity of the sampling sites. A floristic similarity analysis showed that the Machito de las Flores site had more species diversity than other sites, probably due to differences in physical and ecological processes

Palavras-chave : floristic list; tropical deciduous forest; balsas basin; threatened species and endangered species.
