Convergencia [online]. 2018, vol.25, n.76, pp.169-190. ISSN 2448-5799.  https://doi.org/10.29101/crcs.v25i76.4391.

This article analyzes the impact of the economic crisis on Ecuadorian immigrants residing in Spain. This analysis is based on a national survey conducted with Ecuadorian population in Spain. For this purpose, we have developed an impact synthetic index, and split our sample into three groups that have been affected by the economic downturn to different extents. The most harmed group shows high negative impacts on both, housing and economic indicators. On the opposite side, those who have arrived most recently, who are younger and have better schooling level, have experienced a much lighter impact of the crisis.

Keywords : international migrations; economic crisis; integration; Spain; Ecuador.
