Resumen

DE HARO-HONRUBIA, Alejandro. The anthropology of conflict: reflections on the new global order. Convergencia [online]. 2012, vol.19, n.60, pp.177-204. ISSN 2448-5799.

This essay develops a theory of conflict in an anthropologic key. The conflict does not have to be conceived in strictly political or warlike terms. It is something existential that concerns human life. It is something that accompanies us irremediably as human beings in our circumstantial becoming. It is necessary to avoid an exclusively political or warlike reading concerning the conflict. There are phenomena as, for example, the terrorist attacks occurred on September 11th 2001 in the USA and on March 11th 2004 in Spain which have finished motivating a global perception of social life as territory of conflict. The community model of Aristotle, which came up to modern times, is replaced by the individualistic and troubling hobbesian model, still today too much current, that declares a free-for-all war.

Palabras llave : conflict; crisis; anthropology; globalization; terrorism.
