The purpose of this article is to describe the origin and historic development of the study of Public Administration in Mexico, from theoretical treaties and issues related to this discipline, as from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries until the beginning of this one. Within this theoretical development, several scholars who contributed with their works to the formation and evolution of Public Administration as a field of study are distinguished. This is a research line scarcely explored and which requires the attention of the discipline scholars to ascertain their historical roots, the trajectory of its main authors as well as the contributions to this field of knowledge.
