The intention of this article is to invite to the reader to a theoretical reflection on the main productive and political strategies of the model of rural development that at the moment exists in Mexico. With base in the historical antecedents of the rural, it discusses development around the incorporation of the perspective of gender to the policies of rural development; particularly emphasis in the bond is put rural woman and development. For it one struggles on the relational construction between the rural woman and the public policy that the government carries out.
