The rural environment offers an economic alternative based on the binomial nature and culture. The natural resources are a tourist attraction which altogether with the cultural peculiarities difference the areas, grant them a very own identity. In Santa Catarina del Monte these natural and cultural characteristics are conjugated in the elaboration of stick-made crafts; they recreate items with Christmas motifs. Rural tourism is considered to be a motor of this zone's development, bringing economic benefits to the domestic groups who commercialize these pieces and boosting at the time visiting the forests and springs of the place.
