This paper is one of the first at tempts to recover and analyse the feminine presence in the Salinas Grandes strike (in the province of La Pampa, Argentina) which took place in 1971-1972. A meticolous work in localizing those who participated and had a role in the conflict now al lows us to construct a symphony of interacting voices narrating the every day life of the salt mine community, the gender relationships, and the notions of politics involved, and to attribute more prominence to these participants in the events. Our aim is to re cover and begin to eliminate this invisibility on the basis of the oral evidence, with the objective of interpreting, in a historical perspective, the folds and refolds occasioned in their lives because of the strike.
