This work discusses the relationship "gender-environmental behavior" in 137 businesses of handicrafts of mud of Oaxaca, Puebla andTlaxcala. Under the suppositions of Gender Political Ecology (EPG) where the innovation, as a change for improve the environment, intervenes in the relationship "gender-environmental behavior"; and ethnicity, age, schooling, type of organization and civil status are moderator variables. It used a correlation's Pearson for establishing relations of order zero, partial correlation to determine the effect of the intervening variables and moderators and with a multiple regression was developed a model to determine the environmental behavior of the business and their owners. It was found that the variables that explain the environmental behavior of the business are: gender, schooling, type of organization and innovation in the product, and the environmental behavior of the owners of business is explained by the schooling, innovation in the product and innovation in the relations established.
