VALENTIN-MIGUEL, María Celedonia; CASTRO-BRINDIS, Rogelio; RODRIGUEZ-PEREZ, Juan Enrique e PEREZ-GRAJALES, Mario. Macronutrient extraction in peper 'chile de agua' (Capsicum annuum L.). Rev. Chapingo Ser.Hortic [online]. 2013, vol.19, n.4, pp.71-78. ISSN 2007-4034.
Absorption and extraction of N, P, K, Ca and Mg were determined to meet the nutritional requirement of the crop, known in Mexico as "chile de agua". For this purpose the collection called 'Ocotlán', from the state of Oaxaca, was established in an open hydroponic system with red volcanic rock. The Steiner nutrient solution was used under five osmotic potentials (0.018 0.036, 0.054, 0.072 and 0.090 MPa). The experimental unit was a plant and the experimental design used was completely randomized with three repetitions. Accumulation of dry matter, fruit yield and N, P, K, Ca and Mg were determined. Analysis of variance and mean comparison test of Tukey (P ≤ 0.05) were performed. Parameters of nonlinear models were estimated using regression for growth analysis, which determined that the osmotic pressure of 0.054 was adequate to obtain the highest yield of the crop. The nutrient extraction (g·plant-1) obtained at the end of the cycle was 16.93, 1.12, 16.62, 3.54 and 1.27 for N, P, K, Ca and Mg, respectively. The amount of nutrients to produce a ton of fruit was: 7.7, 0.5, 7.64, 1.6 and 0.6 kg of N, P, K, Ca and Mg, respectively. The maximum nutrient absorption rate was observed during fruiting.
