The results obtained from the determination of nitrates and nitrites in natural waters using a continuous flow manifold are shown in this paper. The reaction is based on the reduction from nitrates to nitrites, using a copper column, which react with sulfanilamide and N-1-(naphthyl) ethylene diamine to form an azoic compound that is measured at 540 nm. The results are compared with a standard method in cost and analysis time. The study shows decrease the cost of analysis in a 85 % and the analysis time in a 90 % is possible by FIA.
