Flow Injection Analysis (FIA) in its different versions, is one of the most advanced technique that can be used to manage aqueous solutions or to mix reagents without the human hand by the analytical chemist and so, finally, carry to the measurement place the compounds of one or more chemical reactions. A revision from the beginning of the FIA until our days and the expected future for this analytical technique, which is more and more applied in clinical, pharmacological, environmental and food routine laboratories because of its good versatility, is made in this paper.
