ZrO₂-TiO₂ at different compositions was prepared by low temperature sol-gel method with HNO₃, NH₄OH and CH₃COOH as additives. The alcogels were calcined (300-700 °C) and characterized by N₂ physisorption, XRD and TGA-DTA. By varying the composition, the H₂O / alkoxide and additive/alkoxide ratios and the type of additive it was possible to modulate the textural properties of the prepared oxides. The TiO₂-rich formulation (85 w %) was the one with larger pores (5-8 nm). The maximum in surface area was found for samples of composition near the equimolar (samples calcined at 500 °C).
