The synthesis of some new herbicides taken from different sources covering the period 1994-2000, are presented (patents excluded). We have not attempted to present a thorough review of the topic but just to show the state of the art on the synthesis and modifications of herbicides. In this review, the synthesized herbicides were grouped according to the chemical families to which they belong.
