The 3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-1,2,4,5-tetroxane (ACDP) in methanol solution shows an absorbance peak at low wave length in UV spectrum and follows the Lambert Beer law until 10-2 M concentration at 209 nm. The ACDP thermal decomposition have been studied by the UV spectroscopy like an alternative method to find out the kinetic parameters from the thermolysis of these compounds. The rate constants at the temperatures and initial concentration ranges of 130-166 ºC and 0,003-0,013 mol / L, respectively, and the activation parameters were similar to the corresponding values found by other methodology, verifying this analytic technique. Acetone produced during reaction no interference in ACDP cuantification by UV analysis.
