After having abandoned it during the 1980s and 1990s, the theory of growth has made significant progress in recent years, and the theoretical positions between the various schools of thought, which used to be highly contradictory, now seem to be reaching a temporary consensus in Kuhn's sense of the word. This consensus in the existing literature occurs mainly in relation to the existence of the convergence or divergence of per capita GDP between the poor and rich countries, marginal factor productivity, capital flows and foreign investment flows between the different economies -under conditions of Inada- and the hypothesis related to the simultaneity of investment growth and consumption. The present article makes an attempt at synthesizing this with respect to these debates and aims at supporting some responses on the basis that appears to be the present consensus.
