Abstract

LECHUGA MONTENEGRO, Jesús  and  BUSTAMANTE TORRES, Jorge. "Marcas" o "monopolio del conocimiento": la naturaleza del trabajo en la nueva economía. Prob. Des [online]. 2007, vol.38, n.150, pp.73-106. ISSN 0301-7036.

This study aims to analyze, from a perspective of objective value theory, how the predominance of complex work -understood as knowledge -generates monopolies. This knowledge enables the company to realize innovations that are manifested in the form of property rights (intangibles) that make it possible to concentrate a major segment of the market. It also explains why brands and property rights are the key points in product differentiation (know-how) in monopolistic structures, reaffirming that in the present production process knowledge represents a source of power in the valorization of capital, within a framework where physical (simple) labor has a significantly lower weighting than intellectual (complex) labor. It also deepens the particular characteristics of intangibles in terms of value.

Keywords : intangibles; complex labor; productive labor; property rights; product differentiation.
