In the state of Aguascalientes, Mexico, we found a rotifer of the genus Brachionus, B. josefinae, belonging to urceolaris group. This endemic rotifer, has not yet been reported in any other region of Mexico or the America. For the first time since it was described, morphological features are displayed with images showing the ultrastructure of the habitus and the trophi, using scanning electron microscopy.
