The construction of violence in Mexico: An analysis from literay theory. This article proposes that literary theory, in particular the categories of narrativity and triple mimesis, can be useful to understand how violence has become socially constructed as the most serious problem in Mexico. As a case study some aspects of the "war on drugs" during the presidency of Felipe Calderon Hinojosa (2006-2012), especially the official discourse about it and its media representation, will be discussed, drawing from observations put forward by Fernando Escalante Gonzalbo.
