Abstract
BEATRIZ DI LISCIA, María Herminia. Memorias de mujeres: Un trabajo de empoderamiento. Polít. cult. [online]. 2007, n.28, pp. 43-69. ISSN 0188-7742.
In order to study the construction of women identity and citizenship, we must deal with the processes and contents of memory. Culture is created and stored by particular gender codes that are learned and generally taught through socialization. Inside them, inclusion and exclusion are developed, therefore memory is the result of historical power relations. A unique female narrative is manifested as an ancor between individual acknowledgment and the link with inter-generical and social identities. Because of this, they strengthen and take place in the present in order to value their lives and re-analyze the facts of the past to recover women's memories and make possible their empowerment.
