Abstract

AUDELO CRUZ, Jorge Mario. Organizaciones sociales y partidos políticos en Oaxaca: sus vínculos. Polít. cult. [online]. 2007, n.27, pp.57-74. ISSN 0188-7742.

In every political system, citizens expect attention to their demands by their political representatives. One way to get it is to join organizations which have links to deputies, senators, political leaders and government authorities. However, the leadership of these organizations do not always attend to the needs of their people and the organizations' relationship with the political elite is not always democratic. This essay tries to show briefly the way that the most important political parties in Oaxaca link with some indigenous and peasant organizations and find out if there is a democratic growth in political representation.

Keywords : democracy; clientelism; caciquism; corporatism; social organizations; political parties.
