Abstract

RUIZ COLLANTES, Xavier et al. La imagen pública de la inmigración en las series de televisión españolas. Polít. cult. [online]. 2006, n.26, pp.93-108. ISSN 0188-7742.

In this article we present the main results of a semio-narrative analysis about the image of the immigrants that project the Spanish series of television. This study represents an ampler project of investigation, financed by the 'Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología' in Spain and developed by group UNICA of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. The results offer five prototypical narrations in which usually immigrant characters appear in the Spanish series of television. Finally, a reflection is made about the possible effects of these recurrent narrative frames in the construction of a public image of immigration in Spain.

Keywords : Immigration; television; series; fiction; narrative semiotics.
