Abstract
DE LA PENA, Ricardo. El número de autonomías y la competitividad electoral. Polít. cult. [online]. 2005, n.24, pp.233-255. ISSN 0188-7742.
It has been possible to analyze and synthesize electoral data into simple indicators whose objective is to provide a single datum in regards to the observed distributions, such as in the case of votes' concentration-fragmentation indexes, Nevertheless, there is no Index devoid of problems. For that matter, this paper aims to advance a definition of "families" of indicators that may fully explain the event. Therefore, this essay proposes a complementary Index for the analysis of the actual and effective number of parties in a given system, which we have named "number of autonomous parties" and whose characteristics and specifics are reviewed.
Keywords : number of parties; indexes; concentration; dominance; autonomies.
