Abstract
ARAGONES CASTANER, Ana María and DUNN, Timothy. Trabajadores indocumentados y nuevos destinos migratorios en la globalización. Polít. cult. [online]. 2005, n.23, pp.43-65. ISSN 0188-7742.
This paper studies the new economic conditions that give rise to migratory flows under the aegis of globalization. It analyzes new working processes based on increased labor flexibility and deregulation, which favor the employment of migrant workers and, most particularly, of undocumented migrants. It questions certain theoretical concepts, such as the role of social networks in promoting migration, and it examines the new destinations of migration and the role played by the United States in worldwide globalization as an exporter of agricultural goods, the labor requirements of which encourage the migration phenomenon.
Keywords : Undocumented migration; globalization; labor flexibility and deregulation; new destinations for migration.
