The purpose of the article is to explore a dimension of the communicative process related to media production. Its objective is to go beyond identifying the media as the source of violence and the fears it generates. Rather, it tries to understand the ways the media relates to other factors such as the community and the institutions. To speak about the responsibility of media production, is also to analyze complex processes involved in the generation and permanence of violence, as a referent that begins to dominate the dynamics and daily relations of the frontier city of the north of México.
