Abstract

MACEIRA OCHOA, Luz. Dynamics of Mnemonic Communities: Groups of Women Who Remember in Action. Alteridades [online]. 2015, vol.25, n.49, pp.25-38. ISSN 2448-850X.

Drawing from two feminist experiences of memorialization, the article describes aspects of the experience and dynamics of groups in process of constituting themselves as communities of and for social memory. The practices and social processes that these groups develop are highlighted, emphasizing factors that sustain, empower or weaken them. The scope of social memory as a political practice is accounted for, underscoring women's agency and power relations and the resources implied in the process.
