Abstract

BECERRA, María Florencia et al. Power and Knowledge Dynamics in the Reconstruction of Ciudad Sagrada de Quilmes (Tucumán 1977-1981). Alteridades [online]. 2013, vol.23, n.46, pp.67-77. ISSN 2448-850X.

The activation of the archeological site of Ciudad Sagrada de Quilmes is analyzed as cultural patrimony of the province of Tucumán, and its reconstruction for touristic purposes during the 70s. It aims to demonstrate how -through the relationship of state agents, landowners, archeologists and local population- several control mechanisms and power exercises took part in the ideological model in which the Argentinian government at the time took action; as well as other subordination modes carried out at other times. Emerging strains during the process are also highlighted.

Keywords : Indian community of Quilmes; reconstruction of archeological site; power relationships; control mechanisms.
