Audiovisual anthropology has blossomed in the anthropological academic field in the last 20 years but it still needs to intertwine social and cultural anthropology and use more thoroughly their epistemological and technical resources. In this article I review some of the main debates on the delimitation of domains and theoretical contributions to the main body of anthropological studies but highlighting the relevance of audiovisual production of fiction.
