Abstract

A case study in the metropolitan area of Mexico city. This article searches the way in which a living place is produced from the narratives of the dwellers of a peripheral urban neighborhood in Mexico City. Based on in-depth individual and group interviews, the role of the story line is highlighted, and so are the temporalities, actors and events for the elaboration of vital points of reference. The relation between narratives and social identity are discussed from the forms in which the process of populating the neighborhood.
